Springbok coach Peter de Villiers was full of praise for his team, in particular the tight five, after they started their Tri-Nations campaign with an impressive 28-19 win over New Zealand in Bloemfontein on Saturday

The Springboks beat the All Blacks 28-19 in Bloemfontein but crucially also denied the All Blacks a losing bonus point as they did not finish within seven points of the Springboks.

Tri-Nations




New Zealand and Australia go head-to-head in Auckland next Saturday, in a Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cup double header, before both countries head to South Africa to tackle the Springboks.




If one was to believe the talk coming from sections of their local media and the former playing ranks of Australian test players, then we are witnessing the birth of a new golden age for the Wallabies.

2009 Investec Tri Nations - First Preview

The Investec Tri Nations will kick off at Eden Park on July 18th with the All Blacks hosting the Wallabies. It will be the fourteenth edition of the Southern Hemisphere's premier rugby tournament.
With the Springboks losing to the British and Irish Lions, the three SANZAR powers have completed their “home series” of test matches, and it is three vastly different beasts that enter the competition.

2nd Test in Pretoria


A last-minute penalty by Morné Steyn gave South Africa a 28-25 victory and 2-0 series lead over the British & Irish Lions in Pretoria on Saturday.
In the end the Boks outscored their opponents by three tries to one, but they may have been a touch fortunate.
